Riverdale, Utah
(Settled in 1852)
An outgrowth of Ogden. Named for its proximity to the Weber River. Formerly called Stringtown because the first houses were built mainly along a single road in a long "string" extending southeast from Ogden. First called Jack Thompson's Settlement, for John C. Thompson, an early settler. Also temporarily called Union.
